News Flash! Lily and Makayla came home from the hospital with their mommy yesterday afternoon. Katelyn's still completing the last few days/weeks of her NICU sentence, mostly to make sure she's getting the nourishment she needs. We haven't heard anything yet about the first at-home night with 2/3 of the triplets, but I can only imagine there was at least one infomercial watched. Needless to say, Jennifer didn't spend the morning cooking turkey...grandma will be the Thanksgiving meal wagon later this afternoon. Maybe my wife should have triplets so I can have a free grandma Thanksgiving.
At the risk of stating the obvious, on this Thanksgiving Day I can't think of anything in the world that I, or my family, are more grateful for than the heavenly gift of Katelyn, Lily and Makayla. Not only is it a miracle that these little babies are here, but it is an overwhelming blessing that they are healthy and happy. My favorite part of it all is that there were three little girls born into a home that will forever be an oasis of love and happiness in our rough and bitter world. God looked down on the Earth and selected the best possible mommy and daddy for these three little girls who are so special to Him. I haven't met Katelyn, Lily and Makayla yet, but I can tell by the way their pictures make me feel that they are going to be a major part of our lives forever. I'm gonna have to buy a lot of Slurpees over the next several years to win their love. I look at these pictures and I forget all my cares about work, finances or anything else; our families are all that matter...especially our precious little ones that need us as badly as we need them.
By the way, I'm not sure which of the little babies in these pictures are which. My "purple hat on Lily only" mandate clearly hasn't been followed. I'll have to revert to my alternate identification method; the cute one is Lily and the other cute one is Makayla.
