A Strange Halloween

Annie dressed up as Izzy from
 Jake and the Neverland Pirates.
This is a bit late, but I had to write about our strange Halloween so we will never forget.  As far as the day went it was like any other normal day...until we left the house to start our trick-or-treating/visiting Grandma's trek.  We were on our way to my mom's with a planned stop at Wendy's on the way to pick up some dinner.  We were just about to Wendy's at Jordan Landing when we were rear-ended in our new mini van!  I was so angry I couldn't even look at or talk to the girl who hit us without crying.  The raging pregnancy hormones no doubt had a lot to do with that.  It really wasn't a terrible accident and the damage to the van was minimal, but still requires repairing.  Not good timing.  We are now just getting to the point in the process where we can finally take the van in to be fixed.  Ugh.  All I can say is we better have it back by the time the babies come home from the hospital. Oh, and you know when you have the thought, "I wonder if I should wear this today?  What if I get in an accident and people see me wearing it?"  HA!  That thought totally occurred to me that day and I ignored it.  I was wearing one of my comfy muumuu's.  It really is great pregnancy wear when maternity pants no longer comfortably fit, but it's really not fun to be wearing on the street at Jordan Landing.   So anyways, we headed to Wendy's after everything at the accident was settled and we went through the drive-thru.  We ended up having to wait for our food because the "chicken machine" as the young man put it was broken. So we pulled ahead and waited.  Nathen kept the window down and had his hand hanging out the window.  Out of nowhere he says, "Ow!"  I asked him what was wrong and he had been stung by a bee in the finger!  I knew he was in pain, but I couldn't help but laugh.  The stinger was still in  his finger so he drove one-handed to my mom's before he was able to get the tweezers and take the stinger out.  We finally dug into our dinner and wouldn't you know it, the chicken machine must have been broken, because my sandwich wasn't cooked all the way through.  At least I had my frosty to comfort me.  Later that night we were headed to Nathen's mom's house via 4700 S.  We were stopped at a light and I happened to look over to my left and see a truck pulling a horse trailer.  There's nothing strange about that, but when I looked closer I saw that it wasn't a horse in the trailer, it was a camel!  A real live camel.  Very cool.  Very strange.  I can safely say that was one of the strangest Halloweens ever.
