Dragon Training

Last Saturday we took Annie to an Easter egg hunt at Aunt Marilyn's condo complex. They definately were not planning on having so many kids show up as Annie was lucky to find just one egg. Some of the kids didn't get any. It really didn't bother her much and she was content to play on the playground. Afterwards we walked over to McDonalds and had lunch. Annie asked for a "hangaber" so we got her the kids meal with a plain "hangaber". Their Happy Meals right now include toys from the new movie, "How to Train Your Dragon". The box even turns into a Viking helmet complete with horns. After lunch I really didn't feel like going home and doing the things that need to be done on a Saturday so Nathen thought that maybe we should go see this movie with Annie. We've never taken her to a theatre before so we weren't sure how this was going to go over. She seemed pretty excited--until we opened the door to the theatre. It was dark and boy was she nervous! I carried her to our seats and she seemed to be okay--until I set her down in her seat and it folded up with her in it! So Nathen left to go get a booster seat (we're rookies at this, otherwise we would have got one to start out with) and Annie flipped out because Daddy was gone. She took off up the stairs crying--well, no--screaming and I went chasing after her. I can only imagine what everyone in the room was thinking. 'Oh great' probably doesn't even cover it. Luckily it didn't take Nathen long to find a booster seat and she got to him before I caught up with her. Once she settled down in her booster with both mommy and daddy next to her she did great. She sat on Nathen's lap for probably half the movie and towards the end was asking if it was almost over, but overall she was very good. We can't wait to see Toy Story 3 with her in June.
